Make a Will Month

Advice and Assistance from Cohen Cramer

In conjunction with St Gemma’s Hospice:

October is Make a Will Month for St. Gemma’s Hospice. The Hospice has joined forces with over 30 local solicitors to give you an opportunity to have your Will written* in return for a donation to the Hospice.

Why make a Will?

Only about 3 out every 10 people have made a Will. For many of us, it’s a subject we’d rather not think about, but setting our affairs in order now can make life much easier for our loved ones later.

A standard Will normally costs around £120, but participating solicitors will waive their usual fees in return for a donation to St Gemma’s Hospice.

This is how your donation could help:

  • £75 could provide a complementary therapy session for a patient which could include massage, aromatherapy or hypnotherapy
  • £100 could fund a specialist bereavement support session
  • £145 could fund an intravenous therapy such as a blood transfusion for an Out-Patient.

How to take part in Make a Will Month

You can download an information brochure here, containing a list of participating solicitors and an entitlement voucher, [Download brochure]

If you would like us to post you a copy of this brochure, [Please complete this form]

Participating solicitors will be located throughout Leeds. Select one in a location convenient for you, and call them to arrange an appointment in October, quoting ‘St Gemma’s Hospice Make a Will Month’.
When you go to see your chosen solicitor, remember to take along your ‘entitlement voucher’ (this will be included with the list of participating solicitors). At the appointment the solicitor will hand you an envelope. Place your voucher and donation in the envelope and seal it, and the solicitor will pass it on to St Gemma’s Hospice.

*This offer applies to standard Wills, Mirror Wills (eg two identical Wills written for husband and wife) and Codicils (changes made to your current Will). If you find that your Will is not standard and requires specialist legal advice, your solicitor will advise you and agree a fee with your before continuing the process.
